Peed down all morning but brightened up at lunchtime. About 9ÂșC. Beautiful sunny afternoon. A trip to the barbers was in order so I took the opportunity to take photos of local buildings. Haven't checked any dates but they are not Elizabethan. One or two have interesting figures near the eaves.
My blog of the years 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2023 in pictures. One picture a day - though I might cheat and post more

Trying to capture the sunset and sky again but went out a bit too early. There is a particular row of trees that looks good silhouetted against the evening sky.

Broad Beans I planted in November are coming up. I planted them a bit late last year but they seem to be doing well.

After having flu and an infection for the best part of a month I wasn't sure I was going to survive until my Birthday but I did. Here's one of my birthday presents. Not sure if I'll be able to hack the language but I'm sure determined to try.

Another very grey day. Snowed in the morning but that has melted now. I'd rather still have the snow. Time to do some reading. These are on my current reading list:

Beautiful morning, bright and sunny, if cold. After lunch, I decided to go for a walk by the river only to find it was cloudy with a cold breeze and the field was waterlogged! When I returned home it was bright and sunny again!
Still, managed to get a few shots of the locks and some wildlife including Swans and a Cormorant - though the pesky Cormorant dived several times when I tried to photograph it. As usual, every time it surfaced it was further away!
In case anyone reads this blog - I live in hope - the camera I normally use is a Nikon Coolpix I bought for £35 as an offer in Currys. I do have a Canon EOS 400D as well.

Went for a walk down to the village shops. Squally showers with patches of beautiful sunshine. On the way back I took shelter in the Bulls Head and had a cup of coffee. I never usually buy the Guardian but decided to check out the new look tabloid. It's always difficult to get a decent shot of the pub without parked cars intruding.

14 January 2018.
Not a very inspired photo. Feeling a bit rough again. Hoping I'm going to survive 2018 to complete this picture diary. But a least I have a nice warm fire to sit by.

Beautiful day. Clear skies and frost. Special sunset. Went for a walk to catch the setting Sun but left a bit too early. Also a quick tour of the garden.

Feeling lousy today so a picture taken a couple of weeks ago - the Weaver Valley where I go for regular walks.
Viaduct, Weaver Valley. This is the main line from Crewe to Liverpool. The River Weaver is 'canalised' and has a fair amount of narrow boat traffic. You can just see locks through the middle arch |
