31 March 2023

Watching the Chris Hedges Report on YouTube. Chris is a great commentator, very knowledgeable, and author of many good books. He was a journalist for many years and 'kicked off' the New York Times for being 'too left wing', i.e. critical of USA government policy and warmongering. Check him out!

30 March 2023

Really productive day. Met up with friend Paul for a good chat at the café. The, in the afternoon, got some more gardening done. Planted chillies, spinach, spring onions, broccoli, and cauliflowers.

29 March 2023

Gloomy day. Went for a walk down the lane.

23 March 2023

Hooray! Some sun and managed to get the garden started! Planted potatoes, broad beans and onions. I also had a couple of visitors.

Yesterday serial liar Boris Johnson was dragged before the privileges committee for lying to parliament.  He lied to the committee. Taxpayers are funding his legal support to the tune of £250k. The sooner he is gone the better!

21 March 2023

Monday. Bad start to the week. The outside drain is blocked so we had to get Dyno Rod in. Things got better when I went to Glossop to Celebrate Peter's birthday with a pub crawl and a curry. They were filming near the first pub for an ITV series called 'After the Flood'. A good time was had by all!

20 March 2023

Rio - world champion snoozer!

19 March 2023

I watched theNovara Media programme where Aaron Bastiani interviewed the American TV host Medhi Hasan. He was born in the UK and is one of the few left wing hosts. He is very good at debating and showing up conservatives. Worth a watch. Also bought his book - recommended.

18 March 2023

Mother's Day. Went to Ashbourne to meet up with Susie's mum and her brother David. We had a meal in the bowling green, and returned via the scenic route - Leek and Holmes Chapel. Forgot to take a photo in the pub!

Driving home

17 March 2023

Took this photograph in Waitrose car park because of the blue sky! First I've seen for a while. Now I may be able to get on with some gardening.

16 March 2023

Yesterday Jeremy Hunt delivered another useless Tory budget. Massive pension giveaway for the very rich. Nothing useful or helpful to the many.

Today, a photo of the potholes that have been on our road for years. Nothing has been done.

12 March 2023

Always nice to see some blossom.

11 March 2023

Miserable day. Raining.

10 March 2023

The weather in the past few weeks has been poor. We've had snow, freezing nights and lots of rain. I'm way behind on the garden and pretty fed up about it. Anyway, went for a soothing walk in the woods and found some lovely moss.

9 March 2023

Its brrrr cold again today. Snowed all morning but the snow was wet so didn't stick very well. Mot of it had gone by about 2pm. Another lost day in the garden! 😣

8 March 2023

Cheating a bit here but this is a photo I took on a walk a few weeks ago. Very popular on Facebook.

7 March 2023

Not a great photo. Hard to focus on the hedge. But in the foreground, and a bit blurry, we have lichen. A sign of clean air.

Tuesday 7 March 2023

6 March 2023

Went for a birthday walk  with Peter in Wincle. The weather was cold and we got caught in a heavy shower. Still, a couple of good pints at the brewery and he liked his birthday present.

5 March 2023

David departed today after testing out one of our E-bikes.

4 March 2023

Its been a poor week for taking photos. I finally got out in the garden an started sorting it out in fairly decent weather but its turned cold again with a chill breeze and colder weather predicted next week brrrr.

David came over and we went for a walk by the river and to Moulton. There we ddid a pub crawl and visited both pubs - The Lion and The Travellers Rest.

In The Lion

The Lion

28 February 2023

Went for a walk with Peter near a village called Sutton. Part of the walk is along the Macclesfield canal. We visited the Kings Head which is an excellent pub.

27 February 2023

Local walk through the village. This little monument is known as 'The Fountain'.
