31 December 2020

When I decided to do a photo diary for 2020 I had no idea what was coming and no idea I'd be spending much of my time indoors, but it's New Year's Eve and my last post of a terrible year. Things have got worse. Hospitals, particularly in the South East are really struggling and cases have exceeded 50,000 per day. The death toll is heading towards 90,000. To add to all this we have covidiots claiming the virus is a hoax.

Despite all the bad things happening around us, we had a great day going for a walk with Anthea and Peter at their place near Sandbach. They have Llamas and Geese, Ducks and Hens. It was a good walk on a chill day.

After a hearty meal, we had a Facetime chat with cousin Simon and his wife Teresa and had a good laugh with them. They have been ill with covid-like symptoms for 6 weeks but have tested negative twice. Thankfully they are on the mend.

Then we had another Facetime chat with Paul and Janet to bring in the New Year. All things considered, it was a good day.

Let's hope next NYE is much better.

29 December 2020

The snow is still here. Temperatures are hovering around zero. The covid news has worsened with daily deaths going up to almost the peak of the first wave and hospitals beginning to struggle - all because of our idiot government's incompetence. Many people have had their first vaccination but I don't trust the government to get the programme right. God knows when I'll get mine. We went for a walk around the village.

28 December 2020

It's been getting colder and now we have snow! How long will it last? I took the first photo at about 6.30 am.

26 December 2020

The covid news continues to get worse. Most of England is now in tier 4. It's been a quiet day here but at least we had a wonderful sunset.

25 December 2020

So it's Xmas at home. We're having a Goose. Me, Susie and Rio the Cat.

Rio is still enjoying his tunnel and we have a bottle of Port! So we did our best to have some festive cheers even though there wasn't much to cheer about. I think the blurry photo of me just about sums up 2020!

20 December 2020

Well, I've found a few errors in the book. Most are minor but there is a mistake on the front cover and back cover.

Today we went for a walk by the river with our friends Peter and Anthea.

18 December 2020

A ray of light in the darkness! I've received a proof copy of my book! All I have to do now I see how many errors there are in it 😬

17 December 2020

A week has gone by with no posts. Nothing much has happened here but in the UK the number of cases and deaths are rising. Things are looking grim.

Peter and I walked another section of the Gritstone Trail starting from Macclesfield Forest. It was a bright but cold day with a bit of rain. The walk was spoilt by the sheer amount of mud. I'll be happy if I ever see any mud again. To add to this my 'new' walking boots are bust! One of the hooks came off 😡

10 December 2020

Things on the covid front have become worse. A new variant of the virus that spreads more easily is taking hold in London. The government's plans for Xmas are already beginning to look like a big mistake. Three households for 5 days! No thanks.

Peter and I went for a walk on the Gritstone Trail. We departed from the start at Disley station and walked through Lyme Park up to the 'Cage' and around the hall. A great day out but it is starting to get cold!

7 December 2020

Still no good news on Covid apart from the fact that the Pfizer Vaccine has been approved. This offers some hope for 2021.

Tonight we had a good sunset. This is the view from Eaton Lane.

5 December 2020

The weather was a bit better so we went for a walk down by the river. This is the viaduct which carries the main line to Liverpool over the Weaver.

3 December 2020

Nothing has improved on the Covid front, in fact, it looks like it might get worse. A fairly miserable day so I stayed inside battling with the editing of my book.

2 December 2020

Another walk with Peter in Macclesfield Forest. We'd done this route before but it was a reasonable day with a bit of drizzle but generally dry. Did us both a power of good. On our departure, I was visited by a friendly Robin.

1 December 2020

Today I had to drive to Liverpool to get the brake fluid sorted in the Campervan. I was lucky in that it was a sunny day with no rain so I went for a local walk and amused myself for an hour. This is a photo of Hunts Cross railway station.
