Went for a great walk with my friend Peter in the Goyt Valley. We walked up from the reservoir to Cats Tor and returned via Pyms Chair, the forest chapel and Errwood Hall. The valley featured in one of Alan Garner's books The Moon of Gomrath which was a favourite of mine when I was a kid. Great walks in that valley. Highly recommended.

The weather for the past few days has been great. Very warm and sunny, almost like midsummer. Today was gardening day and we tackled the weeds. The veg patch is looking good!

Stayed over with Pete and Anthea and their gaggle of geese, ducks and chickens. A fine Chinese takeaway was enjoyed by all.

The return trip home was fine. In the late afternoon, we went for a sneaky pint in the local.

Another cycle ride today. This time past Barden Bridge and up to Appletreewick. On the way we stopped off at Barden Tower which is a wedding venue. The weather was fine. The site ducks came to visit us :)

Another walk. This time a circuit down to the tearooms and back along the other side of the Wharfe. The weather was OK with a few showers. The woods here are delightful and
we saw a heron.

A beautiful, warm, sunny day! We walked up the river to the village of Appletreewick and had a well-earned rest and lunch at the Craven Arms. One of the best sausage butties I've ever had!

Monday: It rained through the night and up until about lunchtime. Then we went for a walk to Bolton Abbey, past the tearooms and finishing up at the Devonshire Arms which was rather posh! But they let us in for a drink. The woods by the river were beautiful. Then the rain started ad we walked back as quick as we could, but still managed to get drenched!

We went away for a week in the van to Bolton Abbey in Wharfedale. The site was located at a place known as The Strid. When we arrived, the weather was perfect, but the forecast for the week was mixed.

Went for a bike ride on the Whitegate way. Great day out. On the way back, we passed Winsford Salt Mine.
