23 March 2022

I planted this magnolia years ago and it's finally flowered!

22 March 2022

Spring has sprung. Lovely sunny day at 17ºC and a walk by the river.

21 March 2022

Found this the other day. I've had this since 1980 when I was a member of Warton & Carnforth CND. Bob, Martin & Liz were members - see the previous post. In those days there was huge concern about nuclear war - why not now?

20 March 2022

Great day out at Dunham Massey to meet up with Bob, Martin, Liz, and Gill. We've been friends for 46 years. Lovely sunny day and the place was rammed. Did my best to avoid Covid.

19 March 2022

Everybody seems to be behaving as if there is no problem as covid numbers rise. I wasn't too keen to sit in a pub for two hours but we had to celebrate niece Georgia's Birthday.

18 March 2022

It's been reasonably sunny and therefore warmer. So it's time to get on with some gardening.

17 March 2022

Old fogeys hospital appointment today. Abdominal Aortic check-up which I passed with flying colours. Phew!

15 March 2022

Managed to get out in the garden today for the first time. Lots of tidying up to do as I prepare for planting. As usual, I was visited by the Robin and the Blackbirds. They were tricky to photo. Both hopping around all over the place. The pigeons are always around.

14 March 2022

A couple of days after the trip to Liverpool with Peter last week I felt like I had a bit of a cold. Runny nose and a few aches and pains. Two LFTs taken. Both negative.

Covid numbers are rising and there are more hospital admissions. The government has ended all restrictions in England and people will have to pay for tests.

11 March 2022

Really good to see Starlings in the garden again!

10 March 2022

At last, I met up with my old work colleague and friend Paul in Stockton Heath. He has long covid. I hope he gets much better soon. I gave Paul a copy of my book.

9 March 2022

Our road has been covered in potholes for ages. Occasionally they make token attempts to patch them up. Another product of austerity and our failing government.

8 March 2022

The war in Ukraine gets grimmer by the day. The UK is not accepting its fair share of refugees. Covid numbers are going up, as are fuel and food prices.

Good to see the blossom on the trees.

7 March 2022

Great day out in Liverpool to celebrate Peter's birthday! The most Covid risky thing I've done in two years. Two taxis, two trains, and five pubs! No one wearing masks on the trains of course 😡

6 March 2022

Someone is snoring!

5 March 2020

Great to meet up with my friends Mark and Nigel. Both are talented guys. We had a good chat, and nearby is the Bowie mural.

4 March 2022

It's getting warmer at last. A pleasant walk by the Weaver passing the old boat yard. There are plans to turn this into a modern marina which I don't like 😡

Ducks on a neighbours roof

More signs of Spring
