27 September 2020

Today I went to Tatton Park to meet up with Liz, Marin, Gilly, and Bob. A good time was had by all. It was dry and sunny but with a coolish breeze. The place was packed. Not Impressed by the Covid set up in the toilets.

25 September

We went for a walk, had a good chat, and consumed lots of curry and wine. A really good day!

24 September 2020

Really good to see Paul again after a six-month break, and we managed to have a crafty pint in the Bulls Head.

23 September 2020

Peter is away this week so no walk :(

Today I did my Covid19 antibody test and it was negative :(

Better open a bottle of wine.

22 September 2020

The nights are drawing in. Its the Autumn equinox. The sun goes behind the houses by 5.30 :(

21 September 2020

Rio sunbathing in the garden. He's been driving me mad pestering for food since Susie went away!

20 September 2020

Coronavirus update: The schools have gone back. Offices have reopened and we've had an august of Eat Out to Help Out courtesy of Rishi Sunak. Guess what's happened? Covid19 cases and deaths have begun to rise and the R rate is 1.4. What a surprise! Much of the Northwest is in lockdown again. Privatised test and trace still isn't working! Looks like we could have a grim Winter.

On a more cheerful note the weather has been fine and here are some Hollyhocks from the garden.

Mushrooms growing in the compost heap 😐

16 September 2020

Another good walk with Peter. Its helping both of us keep sane. This time he came over to me and we went for a walk around the valley ending up in the Bulls Head for a well-earned pint. Moulton seems to have acquired scarecrows!

13 September 2020

I've been trying to establish a wildflower patch in the garden. This didn't work well this year because when I planted the seeds in Spring it was very dry. We have some though, including poppies and these:

12 September 2020

Another fine loaf!

11 September 2020

The weather was fine and we went for a walk by the river.

9 September 2020

Superb walk with Peter today. We started at Danebridge - The Ship Inn - and did a circular walk of about 5.5 miles along the River Dane, up to Wincle Minn, and back down again. There were superb views of The Roaches and the Cheshire plain. We could see Jodrell Bank, Bosley Minn, and the Welsh mountains including the Snowdon range. All finished off with our first pub pint since lockdown in March! Lots of great pics!

6 September 2020

The gardening has been mixed. Some real successes and unexpected failures. This wasn't helped by the dry sunny weather we had in March and April.

Here is some of the latest produce.

4 September 2020

The blog is really slipping at the moment. The fact that I'm not going on holiday or getting out much doesn't help. On the plus side, I've read some excellent books this year and The Book of Tresspass is my book of the year. Nick Hayes trespasses on some of the largest estates in England, and in the process, writes about the theft of common land by the upper classes, much of which was funded by the profits of slavery and empire. An excellent read. Its also beautifully illustrated by the author.

2 September 2020

No photos were taken yesterday. The drive home was a lot easier. It took about for hours with no rain and no holdups. Today was dry so I managed to cut the lawns and tidy up the garden.

31 August 2020

Today we went for a bit of a tour and visited a couple of garden centres, followed by an afternoon walk in the forest.

30 August 2020

Today we went to the beach!  Great to be back at the sea! In the evening we went for a meal with Mark my Brother-in-Law.

29 August 2020

Today we went for a walk around the village and did a bit of shopping.

I visited the grave of Albert my Dad's cat who sadly died before we could see him again at the grand old age of 23.

28 August 2020

Another gap in the diary but not much has happened. We were getting ready for the first and possibly only holiday of the year, a trip to see my Stepmum Carol in the New Forest.

We had a dire journey down five hours non-stop with heavy rain, roadworks, and heavy traffic. But it was good to arrive, be somewhere different and see Carol after such a long break.
