8 November 2023

An eventful week continued with a visit to Brockenhurst to see my aged and fragile stepmother Carol. I stayed over with my stepsister Rachael and her husband Mark. We had a very good curry together. I was pleased that Carol recognized me and we did have a conversation.

Today an easy walk by the River Weaver with my friend Mike. The flooding we had recently in the area has now subsided.

6 November 2023

Well, I've managed to fail to post anything on here for about three months, but now I'm off again with a great walk with Peter to Mow Cop in Cheshire, which is near Congleton. It's a great walk. Give it a try!

13 July 2023

Met up with my old colleague Mike and went for a walk in Delamere. Visited one of my favourite spots which is Old Pale, an ancient beacon. From the top you can see Liverpool and Manchester as well as the Pennines and Cwydlan range.

12 June 2022

Good Wincle walk with Peter. Here we are in the Ship Inn now reopened.

10 July 2023

Monthly meet up with Paul in the café. Good chat as usual.

9 July 2023

A walk in the village and a game of cricket.

8 July 2023

A trip to Chorlton to meet Simon and Teresa. While we were in the Tap there was a torrential downpour which lasted the best part of an hour. That's the weather now. Either hot and dry or cool and wet. We are in the climate crisis.

7 July 2023

Paul and Janet came to stay over. I was very hot, but we went for a walk when it had cooled down a bit. Later we had some wine and a good Chinese takeaway.

Sunflowers and bees.

4 July 2023

Food from the garden. Broccoli and broad beans.

2 July 2023

I've been planting as many wildflowers in the garden as I can. Now we have lots more bees! 😄

1 July 2023

Coming back from Ravenstone was a nightmare. We got suck in a traffic jam on the A50 for two hours 😩

30 June 2023

The day of the funeral. The service was at 10.30am with a good turnout. Afterwards we went to her house for some sherry and refreshments provided by Nigel and the rest of her family.

29 June 2023

A trip to Ravenstone for Rita's funeral. She was 90 when she died. A lively character who lived in the village and was known to many. I had a sit in the churchyard. Quiet contemplation.
