Went for a walk down to the River Weaver. The local farmer has planted Maize. I'd expect it to be higher at this time of year but you can see how parched the soil is. The River is covered in what looks like an algal bloom. I expect this is also due to the long hot spell we've had though the water in the Weaver seems is high as normal.
